Below is my response
Ok. I absolutely HATE the tone of this article. There is NO reason, I repeat NO reason why anyone should kills, consider killing, even lay a hand on a woman. These men are cowards and a disgrace to Nigeria and humanity. TUFIAKWA!! What a shame. Women, if you are in an abusive relationship; Speak up! Get help! Get Out! There is no reason why anyone should live in abuse. All these women are hardworking women who came to America and worked hard to make a life for themselves and their family.
Now, the whole attitude about bringing a woman to the USA and her bringing wahala. That idea need to be squashed. If a man is insecure that a woman is working hard to help provide for her family, get over it, get a better job, GET YOUR OWN DANG NURSING LICENSE! Is it only your wife who can go to school for a degree. If you are a controlling husband, you are a dang fool! Onukwu, Do you think a man get's respect by forcing respect??! If you do not know how to carry yourself as a man; with great confidence because you love, support, cherish your family then you have some growing up to do.
I am dissappointed by this umuazi. These small boys of 40,50,60 who call themselves men. You don't get respect by being power hungry. You get respect by loving the people God put in your life. You get respect by loving your family and protecting them not by hurting them. You get respect by taking care of the wife you vowed to love. If your woman offends you, you don't hurt them. You lovingly remember they are human too. They are flawed. You pray for God's grace and you call some responsible brothers to give you good advice.
You handle your wife with care and she will respect you. You don't even have to ask for it. You kill her with kindness and she'll melt.
God! This is not rocket science! I am frustrated that this Aha horo men are ruining for good men like my dad, my brothers and a lot of good Naija men I know and love. Jesus help us all.
Ladies, if you are having problems please find some good people to share it with. God friends that will help you not people pleasers who will advice you to keep quiet and just manage. Find friends who will tell you the truth. Join a good church. Not these churches that are just for fashion shows but churches that preach the truth. Churches that teach good values and character.
Remember you are not alone. DO NOT BE A STATISTIC! PLEASE

We have come a loong way since 1960. Unfortunately I have been out of the social networks for a little while and I am out of the loop when it comes to events. I also live in Denton now. Maybe I should take a trip down to Houston this weekend and have a PROPER celebration.

Nigerians (>35) in America Vs. Nigerian Uncles/Aunties in Nigeria
We just had on of our uncles (close family friend) visit us from Nigeria. It was awkward at first but after a short while we got to talking. Unlike what most people expect it seems to me that older (>35) Nigerians that live in Nigeria are more open minded and understanding than their peers in America.
If you grew up in a Nigerian, well at least Igbo, household you will be vvery familiar with the term; what would people back home think about this? It is like I am always on my toes worrying about who is watching and I am not even the type that get satisfaction from pleasing people. I am kinda the "outside the box" or the odd ball in my group of friends and yet I still hear that quiet voice of, what would that aunty say?
It is ironic that it seems like the people who live in Nigeria understand more and are more than the people Nigerians in America. It really feels like our parents are holding on to fears that do not exist.
I know I did not do this blog justice. Does anyone feel me on this one? Do I have something here or am I just trippin??

Maintainance Money: Iji kwa ego?
Horrible message so let's just say it's just comedy. You know there is a lot of talk about Igbo girls and money. They say we love money. Me, now, I be Igbo girl. I won't say I don't money. God has just given me the grace to figure out that there are much better things in life than money and it is one of the most valuable things I have learned as a Christain.
So where does the saying that Igbo girls love money come from? Is this a few bad apples ruining it for us all or do Igbo girls truely love money? What determines love of $$?
Ayways, enjoy the video. It makes me laugh and I think Patience O. is a talented woman, actress and all.

Zule-Zoo
Can somebody tell me why this group was banned in Nigeria. I do not understand the language is the Yoruba or Hausa? What are they saying? Why were they banned? Is it pollitical reasons or moral reason? I like the creativity and the unique, energetic style. What are the justification for the ban?
Nigerian: A happy people!
One of the great assets Nigerians have in within themselves. We are a nation of happy people. It is incredible to see that amist great poverty people who live in Nigeria always maintain a positive view of their future.
I am proud of the optimism of my community. It is very encouraging to see a people who, despite all the wahala, always wear a smile.
Children Tortured! Why? Witchcraft
There are so many things happening in the world that we just cannot ignore! This things seem so strange, so unreal, so evil but for so many it is a reality.
This particular case is one where kids are beaten, thrown away and left for death because there community believe they are witches. They are accused of outlandish things such as bringing AIDS to the community!
It pains my heart to see these children have no advocates. They are accused by their own family, the community and even spiritual leaders! Once a child is labelled as a witch they become prey for violence. The community is afraid of them and the community harm these kids as self defense!
I canot believe it! This is mob mentality at it extreme. All it takes is one spiritual leader to point out a kid as a witch. What can we do as human beings. How can we defend these children?
I know issues like this are not unique to Nigeria. This is not just some isolated event either. People are being deceived by their ignorance and their trust. Some of these parents love their children and are just prey to unqualified, uneducated leaders who use their influence to harm their society.
We have got to rise up. We must educate ourselves to the world around us. We cannot just settle in our own homes and become comfortable with our possession. We cannot claim to be good, caring idividuals and continue to ignore the world around us.
God help us all. Please check out the video below...

Cults on Campus
It all sounds, well just, made up. I am talking about what Nigerians know as cultism. The terrorism of college campuses. Groups of radical youths whose aim is to control there campuses and manipulate fellow students, professor, administrators and even their community.
Everybody knows about it. It is not a secret. Parents warn their children to stay away from it, students talk about it as if it is normal and in many cases these cults perform terrible acts of violence in public. These young radicals kill, they steal, they rape, they threaten and in most cases they get away with it.
The question is why? Why are these people getting away with violence? How come there is no real crack down? I cannot believe that these youngster are too powerful to be controlled! I think the real question is who is behind this?
Watch this video ad let me know what you think. I would like to hear some Nigerian college students talk about their experiences. I will like some light on this issue.
